THE CHOREOGRAPHY OF PERCEPTION

Not everything moves.
Not everything breathes.
Not everything shapes the world around it.

But what does,
what defines how we perceive,
what moves through space and time,
Becomes Identity. Becomes Rhythm. Becomes Atmosphere.

VISUALS. MOTION. SCENT.
Multisensory Design & Strategic Direction.
Entertainment. Culture. Film. Branding.

THE STRATEGY

I start before the beginning.
When the direction is unclear, when the story hasn't taken shape and nothing carries charge.
When there are too many options, but no strategy.

I define what’s missing and filter the noise. Clarity first.

Before Design, before Script, before Concept:
I start with meaning. Strip it down. Build it up.

Then I shape how it hits:
Across the Visual System, the Motion Logic and Sensory Architecture.

If the design enters the eye, ear or nose it produces a response in the body.
Before logic. That’s perception.

I design for perception and build it into presence:
Bring the shape. And make it sharp. Reject what dilutes meaning.

Every frame should be intentional.
Every frame should be unrepeatable.

AI can generate anything.
But it can’t choose what not to.
It can’t sense cultural weight, risk, fatigue or consequence.
It mimics. It floods. It doesn’t decide.

You don’t need more output. You need decisions.
Decisions can't be replaced by AI. They become necessary because of it.

We define what enters. What’s withheld.
What’s culturally, perceptually and strategically relevant.

1. Motion Branding Systems
From decoration without purpose → to motion as identity

2. Film & Television Identity
From scattered assets → to one conceptual power engine

3. Cultural Communication
From static display → to multisensory worlds

4. Scent Concept & Strategy
From recycled and forgettable → to conceptual weapon

The perception of scent is the moment when past and future memories collide.

THE METHOD

1 Frame.
STRATEGIC DIRECTION.
Why it matters.

2 Identity.
VISUAL SYSTEM.
Why they stop.

3 Rhythm.
MOTION Logic.
Why they stay.

4 Atmosphere.
Sensory Architecture.
Why they never forget.
BEYOND THE SURFACE

I’m Carolin Vedder.
I work across motion, scent, space and visual systems.
To trigger the edge before narrative forms.

I choreograph tension, rhythm and presence across media.
From trailers to title sequences, identities to campaigns, exhibitions to spatial design.

Contrast, tension and resonance emerge in the interplay between
Structure and rupture, balance and contrast, memory and momentum.
Rooted in Modernism, the Wiener Werkstätte and the early Avant-Garde.
Shaped by Suprematism and a Punk’s logic of disruption.

We don’t decorate stories. We control how they hit.

For over 25 years, I designed systems that shape how audiences perceive: across visuals, motion, scent and space.
My work has defined visual and motion identities for MTV, Nickelodeon, ZDF, ORF, CERN, Mercedes, Douglas and others. Bauhaus Missing Scents became a prototype for structuring presence across senses.
